I am excited about the success of our recent Women’s Week events. Over 1,000 people registered for at least one of six events! We kicked things off with a Google Hangout and then held panel discussions in Chicago, Washington DC, New York City, Boston, and San Francisco. Our events featured a mix of current students and alumnae from our MBA, LGO, EMBA, and Sloan Fellows programs. The primary objective of Women’s Week was to share the MIT Sloan experience from a woman’s perspective. Our panelists answered a wide variety of questions, from why they chose MIT Sloan, to their favorite Action Learning experience, to what to consider when choosing an MBA program. Each event concluded with networking with an expanded group of alumnae and current students. Check out our Storify recap to see more.
While Women’s Week may be over, there are many opportunities for you to experience MIT Sloan. Please join us for our Women’s Ambassador’s Day on December 3rd; you can register here. We also have many events through the rest of the summer and fall.
I look forward to seeing you on campus, and to receiving your application–apply here.
I invite anyone interested in pursuing an MBA or a career in finance to register for our Focus on Finance Symposium held on the campus of the MIT Sloan School of Management, Saturday, May 9th. Attendees will participate in MBA-level courses and round-table discussions, and interact with current MBA students and faculty. Registration is $100, and attendees will have their application fee waived when they apply to the MIT Sloan MBA Program in the future.
This special workshop will introduce you to the cutting-edge financial research at MIT Sloan. Learn more about finance opportunities at MIT Sloan, including the MBA Finance Track, as well as finance-focused clubs, conferences, electives, and career opportunities. As one of our Finance Track students wrote,
“No other institution on this planet can give one such a heightened sense of awareness and robust financial arsenal to analyze vigorously and complete the task at hand with confidence and precision.”
You can also hear more about our legacy of innovative financial research in this video featuring Antoinette Schoar, head of the MIT Sloan Finance group.
I look forward to meeting you here on campus on May 9th!
AdMIT Weekend was packed with 6 classes, campus and housing tours, and featured social events which demonstrated what the MIT Sloan experience and culture is all about. It was wonderful to host so many of our admitted students and their significant others on campus!
A first-year student guide, Nicole, recapped the festivities in her recent blog post. For AdMITs who weren’t able to attend, we posted live social media updates using the hashtags #MyMITSloan and #AdmitSloan. You can also experience the weekend through all the posts, photos, and videos in our Storify collection. We look forward to hosting our Round 2 Admits in April!
